by Dr. Henry Tan, Geonamics (S) Pte Ltd
Thursday, 1 August 2024 // 7.00 - 8.30 pm
ABSTRACT:
The Slimhole drilling has been widely used in the geothermal and petroleum industries as an effective approach in exploration phase of these projects. In Singapore, deep slimhole drilling of up to 1,700m has been drilled successfully to assess the potential of geothermal energy. This presentation provides an insight into to slimhole drilling works done from the perspective of the drilling team, in terms of operations challenges, mitigation measures and lessons learnt to support future drilling planning.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. Henry Tan is currently the Technical Director for Geonamics (S) Pte Ltd. He has been involved in geothermal deep slimhole drilling works, in partnership with EMA and NTU. He is actively involved in various soil investigation, geotechnical instrumentation and R&D projects.
