President:

Dr. WU Wei

Dr. Wu Wei is an Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and serves as the Associate Editor for International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences and Journal of Rock Mechanics Bulletin, and the Assistant Chair for Research in School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTU.

Dr. Wu received his PhD degree at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Prior to joining NTU, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University, USA. His research focuses on experimental geophysics and energy development, geo-energy extraction and storage, as well as induced geohazards due to climate change and energy extraction.

Dr. Wu has been an SRMEG members since 2007.

Vice President:

Dr. AN Xinmei

Dr. An Xinmei is a Senior Project Manager in Land Transport Authority, Singapore and a PMP, CEng in Infrastructure Engineering and CEng in Engineering Project Management. 

Dr. An has over 18 years of research and practical experiences in rock engineering and underground space development including NTU-DSTA joint UTRE programme on the development of underground space for civilian and military uses, Thomson East Coast Line involving deep excavation and tunnelling, and Jurong Region Line.

Her areas of interests include underground space development, deep excavation, tunnelling. She has published over 50 papers in relevant fields.

Hon. Secretary:

Dr. Yasuhiro YOKOTA

Dr. Yasuhiro Yokota is currently a senior research engineer in Kajima Technical Research Institute Singapore (KaTRIS), Kajima Corporation. After graduating from Kobe University (Japan) in 2006,  he started to work and has over 18 years of experience in the field of rock mechanics and tunnel engineering. He has been mainly working on development of new tunnelling support and underground survey technologies. Also, he experienced a large tunnel project in Japan as a technical manger for two years.

After returning from the construction site in 2015, he moved to Singapore for his PhD program at Nayang Technological University (NTU). After being involved in the collaborative research between NTU and Kajima, he started to work at KaTRIS from 2019. He received many awards including the Rocha Medal 2021 by the International Society of Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering.

 

Hon. Treasurer:

Dr. SUN Jianping

Dr. Sun Jianping is technical manager from China Communications Construction Company Limited (Singapore Branch).

He has over 15 years of experience in rock engineering, project management and deep excavation ERSS design for Jurong Rock Cavern Project, Underground Water Reservoir, Thomson East Coast Line and Changi Airport T5 Project etc.

His major areas of interest are deep excavation, ground improvement, deep foundations, instrumentation and monitoring, slope stability, rock cavern excavation and rock grouting.

He is a registered Professional Engineer (Singapore), IES CEng in Infrastructure Engineering and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer. He is also a Design for Safety professional (DfSP) and Qualified Piling Personnel.

Mr. Keith KEE

Mr. Keith Kee is both an Alumni of NUS and NTU. He has previously served as President of NUS Engineering Alumni and is presently in the Executive Committee of NTU Civil Environmental Engineering Alumni.

He has been actively involved in the industry sectors such as President, Corrosion Association and served in the Board of Director, Singapore Professional Executive Cooperative.

He has presented as speaker and participated in panel discussions for regional seminars and forums.

His experience has been more than 25 years in regional business and project management including oil & gas, transportation and construction environment. He has been involved in projects in Jurong Island & overseas as well as with government agencies such as PUB and LTA.

 

 


Dr. LEE Young Zoo

Dr. Lee Young Zoo graduated as Master Engineering (MSc) 1995 from Seoul National University (Korea), in Mineral and Petroluem Engineering specialising in rock mechanics. In 2006, after working for 7 years as geotechnical engineer at Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd., he achieved with distinction the PhD in rock mechanics and tunnel engineering at Technical University of Graz (Austria).

Dr. Lee was involved in the design and construction of major underground structures in a great number of projects, and more than 29 years of experience. These projects cover a large variety such as subways, railways, roads, power transmission cables, underground storage caverns in various countries including Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and UAE.

 

 

Dr. ZHANG Yunhuo

Dr. Zhang Yunhuo currently serves as Deputy Director of Tunnel Engineering & Technology division at the Land Transport Authority.

He has over 15 years of experience in geotechnical and tunnel engineering, bringing contributions to various transportation infrastructure projects, including the Thomson Line, North-East Line extension, Thomson Line extension and Cross Island Line Phase 2. His roles have encompassed feasibility studies, engineering design, and construction support and tunnel maintenance & rehabilitation.

He is also actively engaged in implementing emerging tunnel engineering technologies and fostering collaboration with academic institutions/industrial partners on R&D initiatives.

 

Dr. ZHOU Yingxin

Dr. Zhou Yingxin is Technical Director with Knights-Synergy (S) Pte Ltd. He has more than 30 years of experience in technology development, engineering and project management in rock engineering and underground space development. 

Dr. Zhou is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore, Fellow of the International Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, member of the editorial board for the International Journal on Tunnelling & Underground Space Technology. He is Board member and Director (Asia) of the Associated research Centers for the Urban Underground Space, and a member of the Advisory Board of the ITA Committee on Underground Space. 

His main area of expertise is rock engineering and underground space technology.
